Barefooted at Security=YUCK

Rate this Tip:  BadPoorAverageGoodExcellent
"I am a teenager from California, so naturally I wear flip-flop sandals (also known as "thongs" to some) everywhere I go, including the airport. However, the next time I have to fly somewhere i will reconsider this shoe choice. The last time I went through security I had forgotten that you have to take off your shoes before passing through the metal detector. I realized that removing my sandals would mean passing through the metal detector barefooted. I was utterly grossed out, and felt bad for exposing my bare feet to the myriad germs lurking on the ground beneath them, just waiting to infect them with the latest strain of foot fungus. Lesson learned: Next time, I will either wear tennis shoes or bring an extra pair of socks!"
