Traveling alone with 2 kids & 2 cats
Rate this Tip:
"In 2002 we moved from Minnesota to Arizona. My boys were 6 & 3 at the time, and we had the cats in carriers that fit under the seats. First issue was to get the cats through the scanners - you cannnot carry them in the bags - you have to remove the cats; put the bags through the scanners; carry the cats in each arm; and the person in charge is not aloud to help you. 2 cats at the same time was a challenge, thankfully the cats didn't run or scratch me to death! Secondly, since we had a one way ticket, they had to manually scan myself AND my children - shoes off, cats scanned & bags checked. The kids thought it was fun - mom did not! Lastly they were going to have my children check their backpacks (that had all of their items to keep them busy) because the 2 cats were considered "carry on" items. I PAID $250 to fly them to AZ!! Needless to say - I gave them my opinion & the boys carried their bags on. We made it safely, but not sanely to Arizona. At least the kids had fun!"

Home Page: So, you think you should just be "allowed" to walk around security while everyone else gets checked? Um No thanks. If I'm flying, I want every bag and every person checked thoroughly. If you don't like it, maybe greyhound goes where you were going.
